The piece I wrote for the Mind blog last year is here
Mind are a fantastic UK-based mental health charity that provide many services to individuals with mental health problems such as advocasy, counselling, social groups and helplines. The provide services that ofen aren’t on offer anywhere else and plug the gaps in the somewhat thinly-spread NHS. They also provde some great training for volunteers and staff in the local community and do an amazing job at promoting the rights of individuals with mental health problems and reducing stigma through their media campaigns. I’m in awe of the work they do and proud to support them.
The blog is really excellent, full of insightful personal accounts from a diverse range of people. I’d recommend having a look. My piece is about overcoming illness and stigma (some of it from myself!) to work in mental health. I got some great feedback and it generated some interesting discussion. I hope I’ll write some more for them in the future.
